Viewed from the north to the south, we see Bellevue on the painting’s left side and Queen Anne Hill on the right. In the foreground is the countryside past Everett heading toward Marysville. In the lower middle ground of this idealized version of our city, you can see the U-District and Bothell.

I reprint an excerpt from a song popular in my childhood about Seattle. (Written by Perry Como): “The bluest skies you’ve ever seen are in Seattle
And the hills the greenest green in Seattle
Like a beautiful child growing up free and wild
Full of hopes and full of fears
Full of laughter full of tears
Full of dreams to last the years in Seattle
In Seattle”
